Highlands Foundry X Salt + Still Collaboration
This piece was created in collaboration with another talented maker Salt + Still. We started by using a vintage tan workwear coverall from the 1940s to create this bag. We cut apart the leg panels to use for the front and back of the bag, this is why the flat felled seam is running through the panel. We like to show any original details from the garment or cloth that was used. The bottom of the bag is a tan cowhide leather bottom giving the bag added durability. The bag is fully lined with heavy natural duck canvas and has a double interior pocket secured with copper rivets and deerskin mounts. The straps are a heavy 9oz. vegetable tanned leather and secured with solid copper rivets.
The front and back panel of the tote has an incredible hand Sashiko Stitched pattern in a South Western style motif, that was created by Salt and Still. All the stitches are by hand, truly making this a special one of a kind piece.
