Fabric:
We used this handstitched Kantha quilt from Jaipur India to create this one of a kind tote. The quilted fabric is a traditional handstitched design that is made by women in Jaipur. The block print desgin is a beautiful multi colored paisley type style that is so amazing. The back side of the quilted fabric is a solid navy blue cotton fabric that is handstitched to the front of the printed side creating this beautiful quilted fabric. We combined the Kantha Quilt fabric with solid Indigo Mud Cloth from Burkina Faso, West Africa. We utilized the original fringe detail from the cloth to create this Boho detail to the front of the tote.
The bag is fully lined with heavy natural duck canvas cloth and has an interior pocket made from vintage blue cotton jacquard cloth with a zipper closure. The straps are heavy 9oz. vegetable tanned leather and secured with copper rivets and deerskin mounts.
