I absolutely love vintage Mexican Serape blankets like this older one from the 1930s. The bright colors look so beautiful against the grey heather ground of the blanket. When laying out the pattern I made sure to highlight the center of the Serape to be at the back of the shoulders of the jacket so you can really see the full beauty of the pattern all the way down. We also kept the original hand knotted fringe detail for the bottom hem and pocket details. The blanket is very soft and has a beautiful drape which lends itself to this nice relaxed fit duster style.
