This quilt jacket is truly an Heirloom piece. We created the jacket by using a Civil War era quilt that we found in Pennsylvania, which is where I'm from. I have had this quilt in my collection for a few years and is a little hard to part with. The patterns are so beautiful consisting of small grey and blue calicos, plaids, checks and a great floral on the back hem. I love the soft colors all set amongst a grey calico backdrop. It's a great weight of quilt as it's not heavy and makes it very easy to wear and layer. The jacket is cut in a relaxed fit like a Japanese Haori jacket. We also added large side vents to add to the ease and movement of the piece. It's great worn with jeans, dresses, anything really. It's the type of piece that is wearable art and you will have for years and years.
Care: As with all heirloom pieces made from heritage textiles, you don't need to wash it often. If you do we suggest washing in cold water, gentle cycle, line dry and low tumble if needed. As with all special pieces, please handle with care and love.
