Fabric:
The fabric used to make this tote is a vintage Indian Kantha Quilt. The Kantha quilts are a traditional thing to make in the area of Jaipur India and are made by plying 6-7 fine pieces of cotton cloth and hand quilting them together. This is a real authentic vintage Kantha quilt and the fabric and stitching are amazing! The body of the tote is made with rich beautiful indigo shades and has a faded red woven jacquard border detail. We utilized this jacquard detail to be at the top of the tote.
The bag is fully lined with navy canvas cloth and has an interior pocket with a zipper closure made from blue chambray cloth. We also included an interior facing at the top of the bag made from vintage blue cotton jacquard cloth.
The straps are a dark brown Latigo leather heavy strap secured with solid copper rivets.
